A day in the life of Rosemary Kerubu
9 year old Rosemary is in year 4 at Bright Star Primary School. Rosemary lives with her father and little sister.
Rosemary is a very hardworking little girl who is always focused on achieving higher grades.
Their home is a small room made out of tin sheets in the shanty town of Fuata Nyayo.
Rosemary wakes up very early to help with chores and leaves home with no breakfast, to walk nearly one mile to her school.
Her father sells water outside their house, his income is very little and the family does not have sufficient food.
According to her father and school teacher, SFK's scholarship contribution towards her education has meant that she has been able to attend school regularly and improve her results.
Maybe one day she can fulfil her dream of becoming a school teacher.
Rosemary needs £75 each year to pay her school fees, £15 for her uniform, £13 for shoes and £10 for stationery.
