What we do
Scholarships for Kids today provides educational scholarships to primary and secondary school children in the poorest communities in Kenya. We will soon be offering the same help to kids in other developing nations around the world. These scholarships are only offered to children having the most aptitude and drive and to whom fate has dealt the harshest blow.
Opportunities are few and far between in a country crippled by poverty, and one of the only ways a child can break free from a destiny of repeating the life of hardship their parents had to endure is to complete their education. But what happens to the orphans or those for whom the cost of an education has stretched beyond their family's means? For them the prospect of a lifetime fully exposed to the harsh realities of poverty stretches before them.
Our scholarships offer hope to these children, essential financial support for them to complete their education and become an inspiration to others in their family and the wider community; a living reminder that there are people who want to help and expect nothing in return.
The following pages detail what we do, the extent of our impact on these young lives and the standards that all those involved, both children and schools, must conform to for acceptance onto our scheme.
