Gift Aid Explained

Gift Aid is a UK government initiative that allows us, as a charity, to claim back 28p from the Inland Revenue for every £1 that you donate. While it costs you absolutely nothing to do this, by simply ticking the Gift Aid box on our donations forms, you will be helping us to boost the value of your donation, so helping more kids gain the education they deserve.
The only requirements for ticking the Gift Aid box are that you are a UK tax payer, and have paid more tax in this financial year than we will be claiming from them in Gift Aid on your donation.
Tax Relief
If you're a higher-rate tax payer, you can tick the Gift Aid box, then claim higher-rate relief on your donations when you do your self-assessment form at the end of the year. If you are a basic-rate tax payer, you can still tick the Gift Aid box and have your donations boosted by the Inland Revenue, but you will not be able to claim any additional relief on your donations.
It really is that simple. There's no catch, nor any cost to you. It is your right to make your taxes work for you by ticking the Gift Aid box and requiring the Inland Revenue to increase your generosity when donating to charity.
